August Wilson's Seven Guitars Newark Theatre reviews
3rd Time's the Charm!
Tonight's concert was truly tremendous, with Bruce and The E Streeters more in the groove than ever before. The "Wrecking Ball" set was a moving and passionate tribute to the stadium's history with sports teams and the band. The show-stopper was "Kitty's Back," where the band proved they are the best of the best. The "Born In the USA" set was full of energy and emotion, with "Bobbie Jean" deserving to be a single. The concert got better and better from the high point of the opening. Despite a few tech glitches, notably blinding white lights obscuring the stage and screens, it was an unforgettable experience. August Wilson's Seven Guitars should add "jaw-dropping, heart-stopping" to his spiel about the band's virtues.
